Beyond the Breed: Exploring Dog DNA
Dog owners are becoming increasingly interested in the genetic make-up of their furry family members. Join the Connecticut Humane Society as they provide the skills needed to identify dog breeds based on their phenotypic characteristics, give background information in canine evolution, and provide a basic understanding of canine genetics.
CHS representatives are not able to bring live pets on visits, instead life-sized plush pets attend each event for hands-on learning!
The Connecticut Humane Society is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, serving thousands of pets every year. As an independent, non-profit organization, CHS does not receive any ongoing funding from the government and is not associated with any national animal welfare groups. The pets solely rely on the generosity and support of donors and volunteers.
This is a hybrid event; you can choose to attend in person or on Zoom.
